nVidia's Turing is aging like fine wine. Shocked they didn't use 19.7.1

If you've already bought or are considering buying one of the RX 5700 cards, this is actually good news in a way. It means that you can possibly expect a 5-10 percent improvement in performance once the drivers get a few more optimizations. But it's also annoying because those optimizations already existed several months ago, and somehow got lost or rolled back in the weeks leading up to July 7 and the simultaneous launch of the Radeon 5700 series and Ryzen 3000 CPUs. AMD needs to do better than this.

The title is really misleading

PCmag is trash, they list the 1660 ti over the vega 56, that has been selling for the same price or lower for months. They don't even mention the vega 56. They also put the 2060 super ahead of the 5700 xt.....

Their testing shows a RX 590 is up to 10% slower compared to previous drivers. Nothing is misleading about it.

AMD Navi Prelaunch drivers were 10% faster. Wouldn't that be a better title then making people think the launch drivers all of a sudden got 10% slower...

They did get up to 10% slower for Polaris cards. Are you saying the media shouldn't call attention to drivers that lower performance of older generations? If this had nVidia in the title we would just have a ton of comments that say "I told you so"

I own a NVIDIA card, the old 970, I'd call this title misleading either way. You can see from these comments the misinformation it's already put out. Lumping the good and bad news together as bad news is not the way you should go about creating a headline. But I digress, articles like clicks, it just shows how bad PCmag is.

A RX 5700 XT is only an average of 5% faster than a RTX 2060 Super. You get RT cores, Tensor cores and Studio drivers with the RTX 2060 Super. It's no surprise they place the RTX 2060 Super ahead for value.

How about you read their hardware review where they state the RX 5700 XT is faster than a RTX 2060 Super between 5-10% depending on the title.

There's nothing positive about this. The latest driver brought down performance up to 10% on Polaris. I'm sure AMD will fix this and I'm glad PCGamer brought this to their attention. If nVidia's latest drivers brought down performance I'd also like them to call them out.

Yes the RT cores on the 2060 Super are useful.

Why would anyone RT on a 2060 super? Wouldn't you rather play at 2k? You can barely even see RT on ultra with the 3 games that support it. At medium... lol

5700 xt 10% gain over the 2060 super
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews...xt,6216-2.html

The 2080 ti RT Doom 2 at what 80 FPS?

Even the 5700 beats the 2060 super
