Today’s software update — SHIELD Software Experience Upgrade 8.0 — delivers the latest Android TV operating system and Android security updates. SHIELD is the first Android TV device to upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie, bringing with it a redesigned settings menu and faster and easier setup for new users.

Upgrade 8.0 also delivers several enthusiast-level features. For HDR TV owners, a new feature called Match Content Color Space can automatically switch your display mode to deliver more accurate colors whether you’re browsing the home screen or watching your favorite movie in HDR

Mine already upgraded.

One day I hope one of these updates will fix the handshake issue with my Vizio TV, even though it is more Vizio's problem than Nvidia's.

i wonder if the one i've got OTW from RMA will ship w. this OS, or will I be forced to update from 6.x or whatever it is, yet again. 2 of my 4 bricks, arrived unable to update, thus never letting me in.

what I really wanna see is a new shield pro, with stadia support & hdmi 2.1.

i love what the shield can do, but based on my sample size of one human, they have a short lifespan... however, they keep replacing it, because it keeps failing within a year? I guess, idk. They always tell me i'm out of warranty, but replace it anyways.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Have 2 of them, the old version and the "new" version, both work great, wouldn't use any other product.
