i did years ago, and my life has been nothing but better for it.

no news, unless its local & there's something happening locally I need to know about, like a hurricane.

no social media.

the only news I ingest is the news I seek out online, but i've basically always done it this way.

anything truly earth shattering & life altering will make its way to my ears just fine.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Do you feel news needs to be regulated/punished by the government for being biased?

My point is that corporate manipulation to achieve political goals is arguably an unavoidable aspect of capitalism/democracy and has been going on in some form or another from the beginning, and exists in many other ways (Media, superpacs etc). Suddenly you now have those who have long defended this fact as being part of "free speech" and "free markets" losing their minds because it's being used in a way they weren't familiar with to promote the other political party.

I mean think about it, the very way in which this is being viewed as some crazy, unheard of thing in some circles, is just the result of the very same type of corporate bias/manipulation to make people think a certain way about something.

Years ago. Although, sometimes it's good to have CNN and their ilk in the background while you're working on something to get a barometer on the types of agendas and propaganda they're working on the masses.

While what you said is 100% true, I think the problem is with just how much power to influence is concentrated. Google, Twitter, and Facebook all have way more ability to sway public opinion than Exxon, the Koch bros, Wal-mart, etc. etc. have ever had and they can do it directly rather than having to go through other channels to do so.

I suggest everyone start abandoning Google and their products. That goes for YouTube as well. Many have switched but still keeping one foot in YT waiting for the shoe to drop.

Sensorship and swaying opinion by Google corp, especially when there is so many normies out there that have no idea they are being brainwashed, is not good for free society as a whole. The government either has to break Google up or we take it upon ourselves to starve them out of business.

Tell everyone you know to switch to DuckDuckGo and abandon other Google products, platforms and services.
I think you left your tin foil hat behind, don't forget it or those pesky brainwashing waves will get ya!

I believe the phrase is "QFT"

I've stopped being involved in social media entirely and only keep tabs on the news for major local events. If I want to know more about something I'll go seek it out and read about it myself.

If it's a big enough deal I'll hear about it from a neighbor or friend anyways.

I stopped using Google awhile back. DuckDuckGo works great, and so does startpage.com/ their moto is "The world's most private search engine"

I also rarely use Chrome now after switching to the Firefox browser.

Sir, politics is at the center of this revelation.
I understand your point but respectfully realise that censorship in western society has gotten out of hand.

We are now at the point where we are penalised for articulating an opinion. Slippery slope but you won't get no politics from me.

God Bless you.
