Once again; What's your next excuse?

It might be true that he spent more money on AMD hardware than many others. And if he's an enthusiast that likes RTX, that's his choice. That is obviously not the problem. The problem is the jumping to conclusions that there is no conclusive evidence for. Example? It's stated that RTX cards should perform better than Vega 56 in the Crytek demo, but considering the performance of the RTX 2060 in games with RT, there is no evidence that it really will.

But forget it. Let's keep it on-topic, i.e. CryEngine. The engine looks great, although I'm not sure how many developers are willing to use it. All the big fish have their own engines by now, and well, the small fish probably don't need this fancy an engine.
You're comparing a demo to an actual game. A RTX 2060 runs the RTX Star Wars demo @ 2k 30 FPS. Which is the reason I stated that games won't magically run ray tracing smoother when using the CryEngine 5.7 on AMD's current hardware. What's your next excuse when the developers of the CryEngine themselves stated that RTX cards will perform better than the RX Vega 56 when they utilize RT cores in the Neon Noir demo they created?

Given that one of the things that makes crytek games stand out is the lighting, I wonder if RT will be good or bad for them. On one hand they might lose their edge, on the other, their implementation might be better.

A lot of the top engines are implementing RT, including Unreal. Crytek needs to stay modern. Using RT is not mandatory for the engine, but is an option at the devs disposal. The decision to actually use cryengine for many might come to their licensing agreements. Interesting times indeed to be PCMR.

Unreal had Voxel RT(SVOGI) the same method Crytek Engine 5.7 uses since 2012

Never really got to play the entire game. I played Crysis 3 since it was optimized but when I first bought the original I had a HD 4830. I tried to play it with my RX Vega 64 but it was stuttering terribly while every other game was fine. I assume it's going to be the same experience on my Radeon VII.

It's not bad at all actually! Definitely give it a try.
