Interesting and now that I think about it, my same wattman profile with this driver has been sitting closer to 1615mhz vs 1630mhz it normally holds. I also recently switched to DX12 in BFV and chalked it up to that. Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a go.

To be honest I havent seen such stuttering, are you sure isnt your pc which has the problem?

But is it related to the your VII Underclocking/Throttling rather the drivers themselves underperforming? I need to check out (but mine didnt have throttling issues) just read on the news the drivers had worse performance (RX 5700 series launch) than 19.6.x

No, my Radeon VII is no where near throttling. It throttles at 375w or 110c junction temperature. It just runs 30Mhz slower. It started with 19.7.1 and was fixed with 19.9.1. the only issue I have now is that overclocking is still broken since 19.8.1 for the Radeon VII.

I mean underclocking. but I thought you were referring to the performance regresion from drivers

I am referring to the driver performance regression. All I saw was the drivers were underclocking the card. I don't think pcgamer tested it thoroughly. My Radeon VII on 19.7.1-19.8.2 use less power than 19.6 and below.

With my new cardboard hybrid air\water blower\cpu water block 40 gallon tote water cooler mod. Just made it a few hours ago still needs improvements, it's just my blower fan with cardboard cut out to cool everything but the core. Just something I wanted to try, kept the tape off the hot parts. I'll eventually put the gpu plate back on with some heat sinks and the regular shroud. Before that I'm going to make the cardboard real thin past the blower to get as much air on the board as I can, with some little directional pieces. I only have one right now for the fan to round it out.

Interesting stuff. For my V64 19.7.1 has been so much better than anything before that I haven't bothered updating drivers, but might try these 19.9.1. It's currently at 1660/1100 but in some games it OCs to 1690, which is plenty on air. The ram has been unstable as low as 1000 before but now runs ok at 1100 except for low rez textures in Strange Brigade.
