[Droid Games] OpenMicroWave brings the unofficial Morrowind Android port to Google Play

Quote:
Thanks to a bunch of savvy mobile developers, Bethesda’s excellent Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has been available on Android for some time.

However, it’s now easier than ever to grab the port, as the engine has been released on Google Play as OpenMicroWave.

OpenMicroWave makes running Morrowind on your Android easier than ever
You can’t simply download it and play Morrowind though, as you’ll need a fully licensed copy of it on your PC to get the game running on your phone.

An open source Bethesda game engine... Never would have imagined. Supposedly some have been able to get newer Bethesda games working with this as well. Anyone who uses their phone for gaming will like this.

On my last playthrough I spent nearly 250 hours completing the game (including expansions). I can't even imagine spending an hour playing a game on a phone. Yikes.

This is probably forked from the openMW project. Bethesda specifically asked them not to advertise the android capability of their engine... you know "nice project ya got there... would be a shame if anything... I don't know... litigious would happen to it". I doubt Bethesda will issue a cease and desist, but still, that is why we haven't seen it earlier.

Runs better on my phone then it does on my PC. Also works with the overhaul mod. So it looks fantastic. Even with the graphics maxed out It runs good on my OP7 pro.

Yea, I heard that was the case. This engine is a lot more modern than the one that was used for the game originally, and therefore less buggy.

i put that kinda time into MMOs as a kid, but that's about it.

It was an easy way to appease my ever increasingly paranoid parents. Funny how I could ride my bike to school during elementary in california, but HAD TO TAKE THE BUS during HS in Indiana.

While both were fancy high end communities, Indiana had cali beat in safety, sanity, education, quality of infrastructure, etc etc... so it didn't make sense to me. the only thing cali had over indiana was the way the centrally planned their neighborhoods.
