This didn't fix any stuttering at all for my 5700xt in the games that stuttered before.. Grim Dawn, Anno 1404 especially when moving the camera around, Eve online, etc..

Anyone else with very noticeable stuttering in some not so new games?

When I installed it and tried to get 100 utilization out of it, GPU frequency was hovering below 1700MHz, regardless it should be at 1900+. Eg. I reproduced the bug.

I asked about that on AMD support forum and one guy tested the driver and for him the driver works fine.

So far I cant tell why.

The stuttering stopped for me when I switched to PCI-E gen 3.

I'm using a z97 mobo so PCI-E 3 is the max I can do anyway. It's really annoying to know that if I switch an old nvidia 770 back in everything works perfectly (I did do a clean Windows install with the new card)

Some newer games don't stutter at all like GRID, even some older games work fine, but there are some that just stutter like mad which really baffles me because I imagine if something was wrong with my system or the card itself then it would stutter in all games, no?

Is every game flawless for you? 0 stuttering?

Hm. I had this weird bug..

VRAM was dropping to 800Mhz or lower in Witcher 3. In the profile Chill was disabled, and in Global profile as well.

Then i tried to open Radeon Overlay and checked the "Chill". Apparently it was enabled here (indicated to be enabled in Global profile). Once I disabled it in Overlay, the stutter stopped. @newls1 I have to check whether Wattman overclock will start to work after this.

Can someone doublecheck this?

The Radeon VII memory often drops to 800Mhz in game when using software in the background that uses hardware acceleration. For example browsers, Discord even the Xbox Game Pass PC beta app.

Nothing running on the background, chill was active when it should not be, and only Overlay could disable it properly.

I have good news and bad news.

1. I managed to cause system crash and artifacts using wattman.
Therefore it seems to work.

2. I definitely havent seen frequency to be reported above 1800MHz.
But i just got my watercooler, and my card does not seem to be particularly good piece for OC.

Also, 19.12.1 definitely breaks my Witcher 3 profile:
a) I have GOG version of the game, but instead, launch from Radeon settings opens Steam.
Does not even matter i located the game executable.

b) Shader Cache is not working.
After game is restarted, it still stutters - recreating data for cache. In 19.5.2 "AMD Optimized" worked flawlessly.

Another bug is that Clean Installation uninstalled PSP drivers for no reason...
