You really do have a short attention span.
Linux leads every other market (phone, servers, supercomputers, science, industry, embedded, if you want to consider FreeBSD a Linux relative even consoles, etc) but it is not good enough for the desktop for some unknown reason. What I can assure you is that it isn't because of the lack of backing:
Basically every major corporation is there, even Microsoft with a Platinum sponsorship as WannaBeOCer pointed out. But they don't stop there and even have entire teams writing code for it.
And just so it is clear every line of code that Google writes for their Android project goes directly into the Linux project itself. So by developing Android, Google is making Linux better.
Just how low are you going to fall before you open your eyes? I remember that you complained about people being adamant while being clearly in the wrong.
