Weird that windows works with less.

Try using xfce desktop instead of Cinnamon. A Raspberry Pi with 1gb of memory can run the xfce desktop with no problem.

How is this news? It's known that Linux is less dense of an OS than Windows and hardware runs far better on Linux due to this exact reason.

There is next to no difference in performance between the various builds/releases of Windows 10. What small differences there are usually comes down to scheduling adjustments or the ability to workaround the performance issues of some of vulnerability mitigation (retpoline, for example, which can only been enabled on 1809 or later).

...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. -- Thomas Jefferson

They did a new review with multiple distros against Windows. They list the build numbers on the first page. Again Intel's Clear Linux had the most first place finishes.

GNU/Linux by Intel? Sacrilege or something is what Richard Stallman would say lol

Debian is nice and it has compiz-reloaded in it's repo now, you can even get it preconfigured with MATE and compiz-0.8 package enabled. Even has a panel docklet for Compiz controls, Emerald window themes etc.

Oh and it's probably faster than Ubuntu too as Ubuntu hasn't been good since 9.04 and 9.10 or something. (Jaunty) I have byte-unixbench results for Debian 10. (545000 MIPS)

With DXVK, Esync, Wine 5.0 and a properly configured kernel you might be seeing a %5-10 lag being Windows when gaming on fully compatible titles.
Isn't that more to do with the substandard linux drivers that are offered by the manufacturers rather than the OS performance itself? If Linux drivers were prioritized better I feel like they'd be right up there but I'm not suuuuper knowledgeable about Linux.

I miss $250 GPUs that could still play everything.
