[TH] AMD's Latest Chipset Driver Causing You Issues? You're Not Alone

Source: https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/news...-chipset-ryzen

Quote:
Although we haven't experienced any issues on our own systems, it appears that the new installer, despite running successfully, doesn't always update the GPIO driver to the latest version. There are also reports of increased CPU power consumption and incorrect operating voltages, along with other issues with Ryzen Master.

ComputerBase is now working with AMD, asking its users to send over a handful of users' log files, which ComputerBase forwards to AMD's driver team after anonymizing to figure out why the installations aren't going as expected.

%userprofile%\AMD_Chipset_IODrivers.Log
%userprofile%\Device_ID.log
c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev
c:\windows\inf\setupapi.log
c:\windows\dpinst.log
AMD can never get a break with drivers. Ever since the release of Zen 2 we've seen multiple software problems.

Idiots like to update everything, they like being beta testers and then complaining when their systems don't run.

1.
If you can't afford to lose it don't mod or OC it.
2.
At least read the ENTIRE OP before commenting.

It's called a heuristic.

Quote:
A heuristic technique, or a heuristic, is any approach to problem solving or self-discovery that employs a practical method that is not guaranteed to be optimal, perfect or rational, but which is nevertheless sufficient for reaching an immediate, short-term goal
I'm so sorry I saw the opportunity and I had to take it. I mean that in the best way possible.

There were a few different reasons on Zen 2. Playing Destiny 2 before they released a bios fix. Fixing CPU idling problems and other weird quirks.

Nope, AMD Zen 2 just has a ton of weird issues. At least it's not as bad as Linux which won't be stable until kernel 5.6. Epyc has been a pain my my rear.
