[TPU] NVIDIA Announces Quadro Experience

Quote:
Quadro Experience, available now, helps professionals simplify time-consuming tasks, streamline workflows and ensure your favorite applications always have the latest updates. NVIDIA Quadro Experience makes sharing content easier by providing screen capture and desktop recording in 4K, so teams can easily upload content and even broadcast their work directly from their desktop or laptop.
Spoiler!

Users can quickly access the screenshot and desktop video recording features from within any application or workflow, and conveniently retrieve assets from a user-defined repository.

The Instant Replay feature automatically records up to the last 20 minutes of desktop activity, so professionals can capture spontaneous moments or rewind to review previous activities.
maybe something for @skupples
Quote:
Compatibility with the NVIDIA SHIELD device makes live streaming directly from a desktop to multiple viewers simple. Leverage your existing SHIELD device for an easy sharing experience for presentations, trainings and meetings.

So this is just Geforce Experience for professionals? I have never had a problem with Geforce experience but definitely don't need it.

Geforce Experience with the game settings stuff ripped out? Why not, they do pay a lot, might as well enable streaming for them too. Nvidia probably does not want any features that are exclusive to cheaper options.

give the article a read:

Work by Day, Game by Night
With Quadro Experience, it doesn't have to be all work and no play. Users can switch their Quadro GPU to Game Mode to unleash optimal gaming performance.

The application delivers features similarly offered through GeForce Experience, such as Ansel, Freestyle and Highlights. Users can take advantage of Optimal Playable Settings—which are in-game settings that aim to enhance image quality and framerates—and stream gameplay to NVIDIA SHIELD devices.
mod a quadro driver on a geforce card and there won't be a feature missing iirc; same control panel options, gaming profiles. i'll admit to never to have used/installed G.F.E. but this totally smells like it re-skinned.

how many are gonna stream their rendering on twitch now?

sounds terrible.

GFE is terrible. i can't even get steam to function properly w. it installed.

can't imagine them tweaking the .cfg to also work with quadro is gonna magically make it ANY better.

Add me on Steam, same name

Haha, my bad, you are right only a "game mode" and a skin. It doesn't look very different either, more of a name change than anything.

I guess even auto-setting game options is a feature they did not want those paying $900 for a RTX 2070 or $3900 for a RTX Titan to lose.

Edit: The one feature that does seem useful is the ability to set the GPU to use the game optimized drivers, which seems to give about +2%. So paying extra does not result in worse gaming performance anymore either.

Makes sense to me. I stream my desktop and take screens shots far more often at work (few times a week) than I do when I am playing games (never).

One thing I never understood with GFE was the need to have an account and log in to download updates. Why?

one thing I never understood about GFE is how it can cause absolute system destruction in the form of loading into black screens, never ending loading screens if you do get into game, launchers not wanting to launch. it's almost like its an additional layer of always on DRM.

we've solved so many transient poster problems around here with "first, uninstall GFE."

It didn't start off that way. Once a piece of software starts collecting data then it will trigger the need for privacy policies and agreements between you and the software developer. It seems to be more and more common for companies to require you to have a user account in those situations. We live in a litigious world where the little check box at the end of the agreement doesn't carry as much weight as it used to, your user account (and the agreement you made when you created that account) is sort of like having a signed agreement instead of a verbal agreement.
