Hmm, maybe I'll actually upgrade to XP when Vista comes out (still using Win2k Pro)

I'll see what my cousin can do cuase he works for Microsoft and I think he's using Vista now...

but I think the Ultimate Edition is going to be $500-$600, look at the way prices are now, with all those features and free music and movie downloads, you're definately paying some licensing fees. People will pay the $500 to have that OS too

when is this coming out...does anyone know?

After all these years I still haven't come up with something worthwhile to put in this area.

blah I think it's lame to have so many different versions of Windows... just make a home and a pro version... no need for basic and ultimate.

I think I'm going to hold off until Vista for an upgrade as well... I'm fighting the urge to build an X2 system right now but I think it'll be better to wait.

Same here, when I decide to go Dual Core then maybe I'll upgrade to Vista...gonna be a hefty upgrade though (unless I can get a good deal on Vista)

It can always be a DELL Starter edition...
