In the wake of public admissions that a whole bunch of pro Counter-Strike players have been taking the ADHD drug Adderall, the ESL (Electronic Sports League) have announced plans to start drug testing their competitors.

Motherboard reports that while the ESL won’t be taking action against any of those who admitted to taking the drug previously, it will “soon introduce and begin policing performance-enhancing drugs at its events” to catch those taking it (and other drugs) in the future.

This is absolute and utter madness.

These athletes put their minds and bodies on the line EVERY DAY for that league. THEY'RE the reason the organization is so famous in the first place. It's because of their dedication and spirit.

And this is how they're treated?

Shame on the ESL. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

If ESports want to get large scale acceptance and TV airtime they need to have rules like this against performance enhancing drugs.

"PEDs everyone does it."

There should be a commercial like this with all the players that have ever been accused of PED doping smilling and posing.

You know what, I'll take it another level, we need to stimulate the economy right? Well why don't we get a PED league for everything and watch people coked up on PEDs wreck themselves to death. I'd pay for that, and the PED industry can hire more americans to work.

Gives people with a prescription an advantage. I wish drugs were legal in all sports...at least I would watch them then.
Games - Fun = ESL
