Killing a person for no reason in a game is a bullying action.

https://www.stopbullying.gov/what-is-bullying/index.html

* An Imbalance of Power *
The person killing usually has power over the other person (eg: being a higher level)

* Repetition *
They typically do it often

It's the textbook example of bullying, people defending such behavior can only defend it because they themselves do it and don't want their behavior brought into the light for the anti-social action that it is.

I can't tell if all the "victim" talk is trolling or serious. Granted I only touched Eve for a week because it wasn't my cup of tea, but anyone who knows anything about Eve knows that pretty much anything goes. Botting I believe would be against the TOS, but if the devs aren't doing anything, then hell yea put bounties on their head and kill em all. That's what makes Eve one of the most dynamic mmos ever created. It's a living breathing world where dev overlords aren't there to dictate whats fair. Eve is purely darwinian. This cyber bullying garbage as it relates to Eve wreaks of an affliction I've deemed snowflakism.

Let the botters burn. gunner2.gifdevil.gifgunner.gif

I don't see that quote anywhere on the site that you linked. This is what one might categorize as a "misleading action."

Not that I recognize that silly site as an authority on anything, anyway.

Conversely the developers have decided that the players offering bounties and killing botters haven't violated any terms or rules as well. Why does that not equally exonerate them in your mind?

So you don't recognize a government anti-bullying site as an authority on bullying? The bit about levels was my own, but the bit in the *'s is from the site.

I'm surprised you can see anything at all with how little light you're getting where you're at.

And it wasn't talking about video games, either.

I wonder if beating a lesser skilled player at checkers is also "a bully action."

YES. This is EVE Online. Everything goes. Even "empire" (aka safe space) miners are been whipped by the thousands over the years by pirate players in suicide runs. Nothing prevents them to do so, and never CCP going to take action against this. There is NPC policing and mechanisms in game, but that's how far it goes. Nowhere is safe except when you are docked.....

If someone in EVE says you are a target or better places a bounty on you, you will go down and nothing prevents them not to do so. Hell if you are a player might have a chance, a bot none, even in empire when NPC policing exist.

Let alone low sec or forbid null sec. There if someone doesn't like your name you go.

A completely different situation than the one being talked about.

... I've been trying not to post but I had to.
Those talking about bullying... you are forgetting something

These are bots being targeted, not people
Stop shedding tears for things that are just scripts. From my perspective, this thread has been derailed.

Sig's kind of broke a little. It's okay, I needed to update it anyway XD

Wont this just result in people scripting BOTs to kill other BOTs to claim bounties?
