[CompUde]Shadow of the Tomb Raider GPU Bench

https://www.computerbase.de/2018-09/...der-benchmark/

"Eidos Montreal and Nixxes have also managed with the game, what actually every developer has failed: An advantageous implementation of DirectX 12. Although not every hardware in every constellation has advantages over DirectX 11, but in many cases it does. On an AMD GPU it is almost mandatory to select DirectX 12 and on an Nvidia GPU this is usually the case as well. Especially with fast hardware feel the game even with DirectX 12 really smooth and DirectX 11 is often clear and noticeable at a disadvantage. In all praise of the PC version must not be forgotten that SotTR requires a fast graphics card, otherwise we quickly slowed down the fun. On the other hand, there is much more relaxation in processors, especially thanks to DirectX 12"

At 4K and 1440P, it looks like it's still better to choose DX11 over DX12 on NVIDIA.

But I don't really understand why they've only decided to put the 1080Ti results in for the CPU test only. Why not include it with the GPU graphs?

presume to help remove gpu bottleneck, but low rez/setting would have done that.

Uhh, 1440p has far better 99th percentile frametime in DX12 than DX11.

Look at the CPU perf at DX12. 2700X matches 8700K.

I can't read the article but the 1080 seems to do pretty good at 1440p, feels like good news to me.

Looking forward to this also. DX11 SLI usually runs pretty well. Can't say the same for their DX12 implementations with the last iterations.

I play Rise of the Tomb raider with very high settings in 4K and get about 95fps average on the builtin benchmark. Without proper sli support it would be nearly half so I won't buy the game if it doesn't have a proper SLI profile !

Aw come on. No proper sli profile doesn't mean no sli. Besides the game looks real nice, and if you liked the previous ones you will probably like this one. And I highly doubt it won't natively support sli. I'm looking forward to it.

Also it is making progress in gpu performance. Compared to recent games the fps should be less at 4k with that visual quality.

The cpu limited fps for Intel seems really low though. An 8700k only able to do just over 100? That doesn't seem very realistic.
