This.

With RT it will no longer be a case of just core speed with games but core count as well. Games have been multi-threaded for a while, some just do not do it as well as others but I would like to see more games take advantage of more cores to leverage that performance.

RT won't take off for a while. If you have to dial down to 1080p with this gen to get sub 60 FPS making it absolutely out of the question I don't see anyone dishing $1000+ on a GPU 4X more powerful to do the same at 4K.

DXR/WhateverVulkanisGoingtoNameIt is not even on the horizon even for enthusiasts.

I'd be willing to bet big money that the only reason the CPU requirement is so high for RTX is because you have to use DX12 instead of DX11. Their implementation of DX12 is a flaming pile of stuttery garbage on CPUs. DX12 is unplayable for me in BF1 on a 4.5 GHz 5930k because of CPU-based stutter and it was the same way in the BF5 beta.

I've not had any stutter or lag issues running in DX12 mode on my pc, its been flawless except for one map where everything flashes light blue.

Laptop though, wouldnt even consider DX12 mode lol

Sorry EA, my PC may meet the requirements to play this game but your game has not met my requirements for me to play it.

Minimum requirements for me to play:

> Full main bases with airstrips and defensive guns/turrets. No more spawning in vehicles.

> Aircraft Carriers

> Naval battles

> D-Day map

Even though these requirments are pretty basic for a BF WWII game, and the first game released in 2002 managed to have all of that and more, they still managed to miss the mark and failed to include any of the above features from the original game. It's just sad to see how bad this series has gotten, and I really held out hope for this.

Just a heads up, it's already available to play for Origin Premier.
I just got off from about 1 hour and a half of game play. Game runs absolutely smooth and it's tons of fun! Graphics are amazing and once you tune your mouse sensitivity, it's gold.
The intro was absolutely amazing! You'll see.

Completely depends on what the user wants to experience. If photo realism is the goal, resolution is a very small part of the puzzle; what looks more real, a 1080p planet earth documentary @ 30fps, or any video game in 4k at 60+fps?

That's not to say that 4k in and of itself isn't impressive, it simply just enhances the clarity of an image, and does very little to make it look more real.
