You could return it, buy one month of basic origin access, play the 10 hour trial, then buy the base game with a 10% discount.

Related: [ExtremeTech] Battlefield V Won’t Support Nvidia’s DXR at Launch

Quote:
That state of affairs is likely to continue for at least a little while post-launch, with DICE confirming that Battlefield V won’t ship with Day 1 RTX support. The update should be available within a week, if the text below is accurate.

A new note from DICE states:

Quote:
DirectX Raytracing (DXR) – DXR enables realistic real-time ray traced reflections in Battlefield V for players with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards including the GeForce RTX 2070, 2080, and 2080 Ti. An early release of DXR will be available in an upcoming patch, near the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition release window. EA, DICE, and NVIDIA will also continue to optimize this implementation and deliver regular updates after its release.

Its still bad. I'm getting frame drops and freezes all over the place. DX11 runs perfectly tho.

Please take this as hyperbole, but RIP ray tracing for now. What's your performance? Frames/settings etc.

2560x1080 Ultra settings, 120% resolution scale, locked at 75FPS, about 60-75% GPU usage with spikes to higher during big explosions.
For some reason I cannot unlock it to go further than 75FPS. Don't know why. Checked all in game settings, no limiter, anything else runs at 99% GPU usage with as many FPS as the card can spit, BFV doesn't.

Are you using msi afterburner/rivatuner? You might have set a fps cap and not remembered.

That's what I figured, since it was my experience in the beta. Their DX12 implementation is flat out unplayable. So RTX in this game is never going to be a thing.

How the heck do you figure out what FOV to use? The default is way to close but everything else looks weird. Google has failed me.

Its a benchmark thread...if you want pics go look on newegg. Thats what the cards look like. They didn't secretly send me orange ones.

Ironic that the bad DX12 implementation in the Frostbite engine is going to negate the use of RTX features. Another reason not to buy this game.

I have a big bang house. I had all the materials for my new house brought in and dumped on a vacant lot. I took a stick of dynamite, lit the fuse on fire and tossed it into the pile of materials. BOOM went the explosion and when the dust settled I had a new house! Amazing isn't it?
