[KITGURU] EA guarantees that BFV will not be pay-to-win

Quote:
All progression in Battlefield V will be organic, earning an in-game currency called “Company Coin” simply by playing the game. “Company Coin gives you the ability to choose items outside the base progression paths to further expand and customize your Company. You can use Company Coin to unlock choices within weapon and vehicle Specializations. You can also use Company Coin to get cosmetic items, such as jackets, face paint, and weapon skins,” explains EA.

Okay but I bet they'll sell these Company Coins so you can "pay to get there faster" and essentially "pay to win before everyone has unlocked everything".

Or, you know, you could have read the article and in 2 seconds have seen that Company coins won't be able to be bought with real money- only the premium battlefield currency can be bought with real money and it will be restricted to cosmetic items. Battlefield currency also won't be available at launch.

Exactly how much of an advantage is 11 days of earlier access?

hahahaha, we are really reaching now.

If that is your biggest concern then buy 1 month of origin access, play the 10 hour trial, and then buy the standard edition with a 10% discount, and then cancel the origin access subscription. You will get your precious early access without paying more than the sticker price.

Hell, you could even buy one month of premier and play unlimited early access, then buy standard edition with the 10% discount and cancel premier. It would be cheaper than the deluxe edition- which only gets a 5 day advantage.

Unless your only goal is going for world firsts, this is honestly one of the goofiest and entitled complaints I have ever seen lol.

There's no "win" in it.

Where does the entitlement come in exactly? Unless EA restricts experience points for those with early access (who pay more) it is p2w to an extent.

EA and Dice have literally bent over backwards trying to make people happy with Battlefront 2, and now BFV... No paid DLC, Cosmetic only micro-transactions, pushing release date in order to make a bunch of gameplay changes and address critiques from the beta. Now we are sitting here demanding that they allow standard edition buyers to get to play the game on the same day as people who purchase other versions of the game (which i pointed out isn't necessarily the most expensive option receiving the advantage). Do they need to roll out a red carpet for you guys?

The staggered release is a good thing for pretty much everyone involved:

EA/Dice: the game gets more exposure as streamers and other media content producers will undoubtedly have early access, and since the majority of people aren't playing, they will be watching.
Streamers/Content Producers: More people watching the game than playing it, higher viewership
Gamers: you get an 11 day window to see if the game sucks so you don't waste your money
Additional benefits: The networks won't be as shocked with players upfront so they can work on network stability and fixing minor issues leading up to the standard edition onslaught of players.

11 days of progress is absolutely meaningless, unless, like i said before, you are trying for world firsts. Do you people ever take a week off from gaming? Was everyone OP when you came back? Bad players will be bad regardless of guns and attachments, and good players will still manage to play well regardless of what they are using. Besides, with the way the unlock system works, if you see a gun you think is OP, you can just unlock it as your first unlock with the points, you don't have to wait to progress down a long list of unlocks.

Essentially this is like being jealous that some people get to go into early screenings of movies. If you both get to experience the art in the end, what was the difference? Other than you thinking you were entitled to watch it at the same time lol.

Give me a break, calling early access P2W is ridiculous. Anyone who happens to get the game before you or is able to play more than you are has the same advantage. In games like this, that all evens out relatively quickly anyways. If you're butthurt about someone else maybe playing a game before you, maybe re-evaluate your priorities in life?

The P2W to be concerned about is the ability to buy progression or in-game advantage with real money throughout the life of the game. Sounds like they've done a good job getting rid of that, which is a good thing.
