Well, I think that your comment was a veiled underhanded dig at people who like older games.

Take the Sandy Bridge over Devil's Canyon to get to Skylake.

I'm not sure why everyone used to be in love with Valve, IMO they didn't have a really good game until Portal. They had some OK games like Half Life Death Match, but nothing that would make me feel like they have gone down hill. They've always been a mediocre game developer with a catalog of meh with a few bright spots. They have an awesome platform though, I love Steam.

"IMO" means very little when making these assessments. I don't like a lot of games that have been incredibly popular and well received, but I can appreciate and acknowledge their success.

Here's why people "are in love" with Valve. Pay close to attention to the user scores.

Portal was definitely not their only great product.

"IMO" means everything when expressing an opinion about something. I put that in there to let people know I was giving my opinion and not stating a fact. My post was like a small snippet of the metacritic links you posted, an entire website dedicated to "IMO".

"I didn't really like any Valve game besides Portal" would have conveyed what you were trying to say much more clearly. The rest of us are left to decipher your meaning if your wording is ambiguous.

A game is made for gamers, first and foremost. What is a good game? If the majority of gamers like it, it's a good game. If it matches or exceeds expected sales, it's also a good product. I'm pretty sure every Valve game, perhaps with the single exception of Artifact, has excelled in both regards. Metacritic, being a collective "IMO", is a good standard for one of the above metrics. Missing the forest for the trees makes for an obvious observation, but an irrelevant one nonetheless.

Honestly though, I don't think it mattered much that Valve was the one to make it.

A card game?

A card game that costs money? Twenty freaking bucks?!

A card game that costs twenty freaking bucks, and still has microtransactions?!

I'm more surprised that it has more than a thousand concurrent players still

I am a Lamprey. I suck. <--- If you like this......You are probably a Lamprey.
