[gamesradar] Bungie gains total control of Destiny as the studio ends its partnership with Activision

I guess we get to see what happens with Destiny 2 once activision is out of the picture. I think this is going to end up a win/win for Destiny fans.

Destiny developer Bungie and series publisher Activision are splitting up. In a blog post published today - appropriately titled 'Our Destiny' - Bungie announced "plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie," which will give the studio full ownership and control of the IP.

I wonder if that means dropping the Blizzard client for their own.

EDIT: No it won't. Atleast for Destiny 2.

It says in the article that Destiny 2 will remain on Battlenet.

Maybe they will finally add something worth playing once the single player campaign is finished as right once that is done the game is over as it turns to endless cosmetic collecting, level upping so you can access the level locked "raids" and even do any damage at all to certain enemies. The level locking is disgusting and there seems to not be any generator for missions. Overall game turns into a pay for cosmetics or grind to death.

Doubtful any of this will change simply due to who owns what. It's not like Bungie follows commands anyway.

That would be dumb, they got a platform with millions on it, who would want to lose that.

Ask that question to EA, Ubisoft, Epic and Bethesda. They all were on Steam until they decided to go their own way and that's 67 million users.

I think what's gonna happen is simple: Activision amputated bungee because Activision is stupid and thinks De2's under-performance was Bungee's fault.

I was shocked how bad the PC releases from Activision were compared to their exclusive console products.

AUDIO: DENON D-2000 -MARK LAWTON & FOCAL ARIA 948 WITH NAD C388 & NAD C568& REGA PLANAR 3 / FOCAL UTOPIA HEADPHONES NEXT / HOME CINEMA : YAMAHA AVENTAGE RX-A860
CARS : BMW M3 CSL E46 / AUDI A4 2018 3.0 TDI MTM tuned (340 HP) / Focus RS MK3 2017 NB - full option (400 HP) / Ford Fiesta Cherry Red - 1.0 Ecoboost @145 HP / Audi Q3 2018 - 1.4 TFSI @ 150 HP
