[KitGuru] Paradox Interactive launches new platform to enable easier modding across PC and Xbox One

Source: https://www.kitguru.net/channel/gene...-and-xbox-one/

Quote:
Paradox Mods is a new independent open modding platform launched in partnership with Microsoft, allowing creators to publish their mods to both Xbox One and PC, via GoG and the Paradox Launcher, in a single upload. This “direct pipeline” is intended to streamline the workflow with in-game and web interfaces that allow for easy distribution.

Modding for Stellaris is garbage on the Paradox launcher version. They have a long way to go to compete with the Steam Workshop.

No, they didn't.

But I am slightly annoyed by that 5% stake owned by Tencent. I swear, that monster is like watching Cthulhu spread corruption.

Ooops, I got Obsidian and Paradox mixed up since Paradox is a publisher for some Obsidian games. Obsidian was the one bought by Microsoft.

Is that the same Paradox that would make those WWII games that were basically a map but still ran at 1 FPS because they were so poorly coded? lol

Yes the Hearts of Iron series, all paradox games used to run horribly mid to late-game because they were single threaded, their newer titles (Europa Universalis 4, Crusaders Kings 2 and Hearts of Iron 4, I don't know about Stellaris I never played it) don't run as bad as their older ones did (but then CPUs are faster now obviously) but their engine is still mainly single threaded as far as I know and you definitely won't maintain a smooth 60fps late-game even with a high-clocked modern CPU.

Can confirm Stellaris is also single threaded.
