Nice to see they stopped smearing the screen with Vaseline.

I played Metro Exodus with DLSS turned on, RTX 2070 @ 1080p and it looked so bad that i'm scared to turn it back on. Runs great with ray tracing on and DLSS off so I will just continue this.

Now we just need DLSS only in the ray traced areas. And everywhere else without it.

How about an update to support SLI/CF as well? I wonder if you can use a CF profile from the older games which supported dual cards?

What a jump backwards and shame on the devs for such a high profile game. I guess they could not pass on that Nvidia money that wanted their new RTX cards to shine while leaving other gen cards as well as newer low/mid end non RTX cards in the dust.

Depends how they train the network, how deep it is and how it's setup. They can of course retrain it or use finesharpen as a regular post processing effect...
Why do most game developers love motion blur, DOF and other blurry crap is beyond me, now they got DLSS to blur everything. Why add costly detail when it can all "run smooth" by being blurry invisible.

They will eventually get it right and "usable" but overall it's nothing more than a fancier upscaling that isn't cheap to execute at all hence they force disable it on all higher performance configurations.

Native resolution DLSS AA... DEAD.

Yeah, I remember the first time I tried blur in a game with Witcher 2, I think with an HD 5970.

Two things happened, one the FPS tanked and two movement made things blur to the point where everything lost form. These days in most games you can adjust the level of blur but why would anyone want to blur things on purpose when you can have things crystal clear at all times. Imagine heavy blur playing BFV for instance.

Initial explanation for adding blur was it was representative of real life. No, when I move my head things don't suddenly blur over.

Since that time, I've disabled the RTX (cough), I mean the blur gimmick in all my games.

There's obviously blur in real life when you turn your head..

Not for me. Things go out of focus as I'm no longer focused on them but they don't get blurry.
The point of the blur is to imitate the motion blur in movies and TV where each frame isn't a clear image, it's a slightly blurred one so you can get a smooth image at 23/30fps. It doesn't work but that's the point. I think it looks horrible most of the time, I'd use a VA panel if I wanted that sort of effect.
