piracy math is an utter sham.

It exists to help folks like EA explain perceived loss in sales to holders.

IE: EA said (insert game name here) would sell a billion copies, but it only sold 750 million, so clearly up to 250m copies were pirated.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Its equally bad when they say "350 million copies were pirated, that means we lost 350 million sales"
Not even considering the fact that nowhere near that amount of people considered buying your game due to price, quality, maybe just wanting to test it or even because the game couldn't be obtained in their region.

Actually they don't. The minute they decide to put that on their financials, the auditors are gonna chew them out to explain what assumptions they used to derive to the conclusion because the 250m is pretty material to their financials.

#2 their debt is insane, even for a "diverse field" company. They cannot even afford to service the debt maintenance let alone make an actual dent in the debt itself. - Internet Stranger

Just gonna let this here: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/...ss_Test/3.html

Truly shows what proper testing methodology looks like. It went from 20 FPS loss,to 10 according to another site that probably used shoddy testing methods,to virtually no impact when the test was done by people who have been doing benchmarks for years.

It's time to update the post,OP.
