[The Verge] Apple launches Apple Arcade game subscription for iOS, Mac, and Apple TV
Better be cheap because Xbox Game Pass and Playstation Now are pretty cheap. Curious if they'll have Mac exclusive titles with better graphics. I noticed at Apple's Metal presentation at WWDC they spent most of the time talking about their own mobile GPUs. Seems like we won't see Apple pushing Metal based macOS titles.
These games won’t be available on any other mobile platform or any subscription service other than Apple Arcade. Games will be downloaded and played straight from the App Store, and subscribers will be able to try games whenever they want. All game features, content, and future updates will be included, and there will be no ads shown within the games.
Also apple stated that the apple arcade will also come to macs as well as mobile, so I don't know how well it will be, but considering those are mobile games, GPU requirements aren't going to be crysis version of requirements.
My guess is the idea that if you and your family have several apple products, using the same games over several platforms will encourage people to subscribe.
Considering they promise ad free full game (hence no micro transactions at all), is going to give some people hope.
