What exactly would be updated using the same art style? I think it's great all the games look more less the same. Timeless.

I agree. The style is basically part of the main identity of the game.

There's no present. There's only the immediate future and the recent past.

I find the Borderlands games to be rather boring. The first game was actually quite fun, 2nd not so much. 3rd is probably going to be an epic exclusive, drm on top of drm, dlc coming out the rear, loot box galore with added microtransactions. Thanks but no thanks.

Some will continue to pre-order not knowing what kind of shenanigans await on top of whether the game will disappoint or not. They think that the last game was satisfying and not too egregious when it came to loot boxes and microtransactions (since they rationalize that everything was cosmetics) so these same gluttonous devs/publishers would not follow by producing a half-baked game or adopt more greedy shenanigans would they?

So not only are people paying to help these billion dollar publishers build the more then not unfinished and unpolished turds but blindly encourage them to maximize every penny by buying the next game properties and schemes unknown. Souring it for everyone.

If some could curtail their "I want, need to have" mentally boy would the human race be in a better place. There is no need to pre-order digital copies.

Your last two posts in response to mine show that you're being overly defensive and choosing to put enthusiasm for a beloved franchise in front of a more rational and non hyperbolic approach after five / seven years after the last game. As if Gearbox was beyond caution (the same company that released Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines), and as if mentioning risks in the face of the current triple-A gaming landscape was unreasonable, especially since certain key details were gated until April 3rd (assuming they share those details by then).

Since the trailer I've probably seen 100 posts saying something similar. What do you want it to look like, FFXV, DMC5, Anthem...Crysis!? If you took away cell shading at this point it would look like a wildly different game. The second game still looks great (on PC) even by today's standards, all it really needs is a texture and static mesh overhaul, better object and ground tessellation and physics that don't rely on PhysX. Updated shading and light would be nice. I'll also be glad to see more complex environments and baddies with more variation than previous games. Most of that stuff could have been modded in but the games modability is lacking quite a bit.
That being said, after you did all that the game would still look the same at a quick glance. Not sure why every one cares so much about graphics that they're willing to butcher a franchise over it...or even get a broken/incomplete game becasue of it. IMO the graphics were one of the worst things about FFXV, the game simply doesn't look good enough to run as poorly as it does. Sure it looks pretty good but it's one of the worst running games I've ever played.

Personally I'm excited to see a new story line with a wider variety of bad guys and levels as well as more complex designs of both. I'm excited to see new weapons and the new elemental effects too.
As long as they stick to the formula they used before it will be a great game. If they get greed an nickle and dime everything I'll be another potentially great game that I refused to buy like Anthem.

I wish they have unlimited bag space, man all those random generated loots just need more bag space than the current games provide. (Or at least increasing bag space)

Well, truth be told, it is good to have limited bag space. Infinite would prevent you from making choices ...
But then, again, we always can argue the numbers I think BL2 was alright in this respect.

Nah, what you're doing is something like this:

Imagine a couple having dinner with their son at a restaurant and you sitting across the room.

Son: Dad, mom. I've met this wonderful girl.
Mom and dad: Oh, really?
tpi2007: (Oh, dear...)
Son: We talk all the time and I'm about to ask her out.
Mom and dad: That's great, son. We are very happy for you. Good luck.
*tpi2007 walks to this family's table.
tpi2007: Just FYI it is known that couples break up after a few months going out.
Family: Wait... What?
tpi2007: Even if they get married statistically speaking it is likely that they would eventually get a divorce. Cheating, a monotonous life and even death can break a couple apart.
Family: Oh my God!
*tpi2007 sits with the family.
tpi2007: I know, right? So it would be better if you lowered your expectations like right now. Better, give up and set a daily alarm on your phone reminding you to lower your expectations about everything. Worked wonders for me.
Family: Can anyone please get this maniac out!?
tpi2007: But it is the truth! Let me do a quick Google search to show you.
Family: Why are you like this?
*tpi2007 is being forcefully removed from the table.
tpi2007: Love is for irrational people! Liking things is overrated! Don't do that!

I'm thinking about making it a comic.

You don't know what platforms it will be sold on. You don't know what monetization schemes will or will not be included in it. You don't know what kind of DRM it will have. You don't know the story. You don't know if the acting and overall character composition is good. You don't know if the loot is rewarding. You don't know if the gameplay is balanced, the game (relatively) bug free and if the cost of the game is overall worth it. You don't even know when it will be released.

All you have is an admittedly well made hype inducing trailer. And you apparently don't want to see beyond that. Those parents in your imaginary conversation don't have one ounce of due diligence or interest in his son's happiness, since they don't really care to know more, they are just baselessly happy about it, just like you.
