Welp, there goes any chance of a War2 remaster from the Blizz Classic team.

Guess that means that D2 is next up after War3?

We can only hope.....

Is a War3 remaster confirmed? One of the only remasters I've been legit waiting on from them TBH.

You probably can, just not directly from GoG.

GoG does very little to most of the legacy titles they sell, and a lot of them don't run correctly on modern systems. I've had huge issues with many of their less frequently updated titles on Windows 10 and many of their DOS games require me to rip them apart and reconfigure the DOXBox settings they use for an optimal experience.

I appreciate what they do (and I have spent thousands of dollars on GoG), but the idea that a game license is tied to the install media is completely mistaken in most cases. Were you to acquire a copy of any title you still had a license to, it would be entirely legal to install and use, in most jurisdictions.

...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. -- Thomas Jefferson

I actually diagnosed and informed blizzard how to fix their communication issues on rs-232 connections on Warcraft I and they still owe me a copy of Warcraft II for that. LOL it took them soo long to come out with II They either forgot or just lost my info and I didn't really care enough to bother them for it. I lived those games for years! Warcraft was the first RTS that I played multiplayer (before then it was all just turn based) and never matched in my mind until Starcraft Broodwars and that has never been surpassed. It's kind of weird that I no longer care for FPS nor RTS and play turn based still pretty much exclusively. I seem to have come full circle.

I tried Warcraft I a few years back but the pixelation was too brutal, I see why people buy retro systems to play Dos games now.

Edit: Warcraft 3 was a disappointment IMO.

Spoiler!
not disputing that he owns a license, just pointing out who is liable for it's care.

Yes, it was announced last fall. Release is sometime in 2019.
