But yea the game is pretty boring. I played if for about an hour and by the time all the cut scenes ended, the gameplay felt very slow.
Yes. It was bad enough for me that I didn't really even give it a chance beyond the first hour and a half that I played it. I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous games but I don't remember them being this sloooooow.

They are taking over by steps and no one sees what's coming?

Pretty soon, when everyone is on these services, you will be exclusively renting games and owning none. Stadia is a good example. Paying for the service and full price per game and owning none.

Please we should not want cloud services and or the consolization of PC.

Curve your impulses. Impulses that have already told AMD and Nvidia it's ok to sell flag chips at $1200+. Impulses that are helping things like Stadia since no one will be able to afford good gaming PCs soon enough.

How is this different then the rest of the entertainment industry?

Owning physical copies of things is largely a thing of the past. Who owns movies, comic books, books in general, music, etc from either a physical standpoint or own from any standpoint anymore? The notion that I dont own the games I play really doesnt concern me at all. Should I care that I dont own the movie Im watching or the book Im reading, I dont personally see a difference between that and games from an entertainment standpoint.

Who is paying full price per game for these services anyways? I havent seen a single service that is anywhere near 60 USD a month nor would consumers even pay those prices.

This isn't like Stadia as far as I can tell. This is like Origins Premiere service where you can download and play the game as long as you keep paying for the service.

I know "owning" the game is important for some people (some even still want physical media) but if there is a way to play them for cheaper than owning them, I think most would prefer it. If I could pay half price and only get to keep the game for 6 months I would chose that option for almost all the games I buy. My game library would clean itself up and I would get more games for my buck.

If 95% of my steam games disappeared tomorrow there would be zero impact on me or my gaming life because I haven't played them since completing them.

It's a pay to play subscription and there already are there things around for those that play nonstop some crappy games.

I see about 3-4 games in the M$ service worth playing, they are now older and many people played them already anyway. The rest is some no name garbage for the most part.
I don't do subscription gaming ever so this service is ultimately not for me. I prefer to own the copy, play when ever, play offline without internet, play online over LAN over internet etc. and get locked down and limited in how I use the product as least as possible.

Even Steam sucks, as when Steam goes down... so do most of your games and you can't play offline most if not all of them.

If one of these services goes under you're left with nothing but an empty wallet.

I didn't notice the prompt for that. I know i haven't made it to menu once and when googling it seems the game just has issues on the windows store.

I could not care less about this. Id much rather pay less to "rent" a bunch of games indefinitely rather than buy them individually for a lot more. Plus you can still buy the games if you want to.

Remember when people used to buy movies and have big stacks of VHS tapes? I do not miss those days at all. The same thing happening for gaming is nothing but a good thing.

Game services becoming more like Netflix has nothing to do with Nvidia and their greed.

I got about 2-3 hours into the newest Metro before putting it down. Maybe I should push a little longer, but first of all, it just ran like dog shart, n I was pretty disinterested by the story for some reason. I felt little want to push forward from first actual open world stuff where you boat around n deal with crazy zealot types in a boat church to the boat god.

That's only true for games that require you to be online to play them, the same thing would happen with those games if you had it on disk.

Lots of people still do. Physical copies are generally better quality, anything online has been compressed to hell that it doesn't look or sound as good. Just look at the issues GOT had their too dark episode, the compression on that made that look like total crap. So i'd rather own a blu-ray and see a better picture then watch it on Netflix and have them compress it to crap just because someone else decided to use bandwidth.
