Doesn't seem that way at all to me. The only thing similar is the futuristic dystopian theme but that's a pretty common theme for gaming in general. I played the Division and WD1&2, they are nothing alike beyond the fact that they are both Ubisoft games. The Division is a looter shooter RPG, watch dogs is nothing like that.

As for RTX, everytime I hear about it being added to a game I think, great all the 1080p 60hz gamers who spend $1200 on a GPU will be pleased. Or in other words, RTX is for no one.

I just hope the ray tray is developed from the ground up and not late ala BFV. We saw how that turned out.

What's so bad about new technology?

Even Minecraft looks more realistic with path tracing than BF V or any other modern AAA game without it. We're on the cusp of the normalization of a paradigm that will completely revolutionize how we experience gaming. Why would the support for RTX, which in no way precludes the ability of competing hardware to run the ray/path tracing code, be "for no one"?

Nothing inherently bad about new tech but RTX is just not practical for any real gaming right now for anyone who wants to play at more than 45fps in 1080p. Anyone who would spend enough for a 2080 ti or 2080 which are the only cards even powerful enough to do it in 1080 probably wouldn't want to game in low res and low fps. Including RTX in games now is just hype/future proofing the game for now.

I'm looking forward to ray tracing in games as much as the next graphics enthusiast but we all know this first attempt from Nvidia didn't hit the mark. When there are cards that can do rt in 4k at a decent fps without costing as much as my first car, I will rejoice.
