[Youtube] Announcing Minecraft with RTX for Windows 10

Announced one week after cancelling the Super Duper Graphics Pack, which would have been useful to infinitely more people.

It's crazy to buy a GPU without ray tracing in 2019, Ray tracing content just keeps coming out.

Nvidia is slowing approaching modern gaming with these RT implemented games. First was Quake. Now, Minecraft. I expect something from 2015 for the new card lineup next year. So, we should see RT usable in current games in less than 5 years? It does look better.

Unless they can make a "hybrid" core that can do normal shading and tensors and ray-tracing, it's always going to be a balancing act with the die real estate.

Shadows look extremely blurry and the lighting isn't as dramatic as SUES. Seems like Nvidia just wanted to implement RT without changing too much of the look of original Minecraft.

Not really. RT is too demanding on current hardware. It makes sense to ignore RT all together until the hardware catches up.

True story.

I have a big bang house. I had all the materials for my new house brought in and dumped on a vacant lot. I took a stick of dynamite, lit the fuse on fire and tossed it into the pile of materials. BOOM went the explosion and when the dust settled I had a new house! Amazing isn't it?

Shadows and indirect lighting look more natural in SEUS PTGI, for sure.
