[engadget] 'Cyberpunk 2077' and 'Mortal Kombat 11' are coming to Google Stadia

Source: https://www.engadget.com/2019/08/19/...borderlands-3/

Quote:
Just before Gamescom's opening ceremony got underway, Google revealed a bunch more games that are coming to its Stadia streaming platform. One of the bigger titles is CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077. Google didn't say exactly when the game would be available on Stadia, but its release date on other platforms is April 16th, 2020.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on the platform, in November. Google also said Stadia will play home to The Elder Scrolls Online and Borderlands 3. Superhot, which hit Nintendo Switch today, is also coming to Stadia, as is Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle.

Boarderlands 3 is a surprise. I thought it was meant to be an Epic Store exclusive.

EPIC store exclusive applies to PC land. This is some weird super fast (who's GPUs?) server farm pipe line thing that magically ignores latency.

all I know is the shield solution is still garbage. IDC if they run it on an RTX farm, that doesn't do anything for latency.

I will however 100% try "Stadia" if delivered to me in a format that is 100% cost free. Like via the shield.

It's interesting to see how many folks are jumping onto this thing though. It leaves me with a ton of questions that aren't really getting answered in the AMAs i've looked at.

Now that I'm on this 400/400 unlimited pipe, I'd definitely jump onto something like stadia... if it works. Specially while waiting for the hdmi2.1 era to come to PC. I've got way more important things to stack money for right now than $1200 GPUs that don't even have HDMI2.1/DPI comp. I bet that community was extra butt hurt when they read about the new consoles all having em ;P

no surprise here. Most cross platform games, if not basically all, will come to stadia eventually.

It's an AMD GPUs farm isn't it. Ultimately these cloud gaming solutions are aimed at rich people who don't know better as these services always have terrible latency and performance, you really are better off just buying a GPU yourself. Maybe for consoles this could be a threat since those types of games are not as latency sensitive nor are their players. So they could eventually sell even cheaper thinner consoles where heavy lifting is done on a farm.

i believe this is 100% the direction, and it won't be too many more revolutions until it happens.

until then though, they've got an uphill battle with anyone that's ever sampled any solution like this.

the only one that wasn't a total bust was google's in-browser experiment.

I play the free games on my shield, but they're all single player, low graphics requirement, & the latency is still mehhhhh .

Their agreements seem much less "only we can sell it" and more "we just don't want Steam to have it".

It is what it is.

Maybe the article means after the Epic Store exclusiveness expires? IIRC it's an ES exclusive for 6 months before Borderlands 3 comes to Steam.
