Sounds like something that might be great for developers making simple projects with little concern for efficiency. I'm not a programmer but trying to unify so much seems like it would be at the cost of efficiency.
however when it comes to ray tracing specifically, I would think the processing needs to do it would be about the same regardless of what language is used since ray tracing is such a simple thing to program just with really high compute costs.
