Microsoft Flight Simulator might be my most anticipated game of 2020.
This actually excites me in the same way that Star Citizen does, it’s just a lot easier to deliver a concise slice of globe trotting flight gameplay than the full Galactic FPS/MMO that CIG is aiming for.

Not that much experience with MFS, but wouldn't a yoke setup be preferable over a HOTAS setup, given the kinds of planes in the game?

No VR support at launch ????

Hopefully it won't be long after launch until it supports VR or someone makes a mod for VR support.

yeah you'd probably want a yoke for 99% of the content they include. You can get the full run, yoke, panel, throttles. Simmers know no bounds. my stuff was procured for dog fighting in air & space, thus the dual stick talk (for space)

what mfsx includes with purchase on current steam version.

Worth it? Who knows, depend what the physical simulation will be like and what aircraft and modes of play offered. Flying around in a slow plane for hours is only fun for so long virtually.
Can't say I've been impressed with the difficulty of flying in flying sims I tried before, always marketed as a sim and then it flew like an arcade. The only thing that's hard to fly are the modern big jets that are pretty much an autopilot and if one wants to fly manually takes a damn procedure of special buttons and command to turn all that auto stuff off.
nothing like this has ever been done. Im not sure what flight sims you've tried before but I bet that you cant do the most simple flight procedures which is probably the reason you get bored so fast. it takes a solid 15 minutes to do a cold start on a pmdg 737 in fsx and same with xplane 11 study level aircraft. not to mention the flight planning and using stars and sids or instrument landing or radio navigation. you probaly just dont like flight sim in general and thats ok. but dont brush this off as just a simple project that doesnt have anything new..

^^ Is why I'm playing ace combat atm, and using a controller. true sim level is too stronk for me.

that much effort and I might as well be studying for the next cert exam. not to mention I've got zero room for my stuff atm

Could never get my flight stick to work with AC7 on PC, though I don't have a fancy shmancy Warthog . Ended up using a Logitech controller that looks like PS style controller.

Anyway, looks great. I remember playing FS2000 when I was a kid and loving it, and then of course FSX, which I still occasionally play. There's this channel on youtube where the guy will play FSX multiplayer and be a pilot, or a flight controller and the interactions tend to be pretty entertaining (though very stupid at the same time most of the time).

I wonder if the game will actually include the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe the game will crash if you fly into it?
