The parents are just one part of this intricate puzzle. Blaming the parents does not hide the fact that the gaming industry has pooped the bed and they shall continue to do so until someone will pass legislation to restrict this attitude.

Didn't the Facebook devs admit that they knew its addictive nature and that it would ruin society but did it anyway?

These guys know psychology and it's in everything now including games and especially games like Fortnite. I've never heard parents complain about a game as much as Fortnite (my family included) and that is a feat considering we've already had games like Call of Duty and their ilk.

Anyone not recognizing that companies use your psyche against you and that many are weak minded and can't resist the assimilation is truly lost in this world. Everything is brainwash propaganda even down to the measly 30 second commercial on TV, let alone TV shows, movies and news. They use all media to make you think, speak and behave like they want you to. They shape society in their tel-a-vision without your realization.

Parents can't be there 24/7, that is how the elite have set up society and even encourage the break-up of families and many kids only have one parent around at some point during the day if they're lucky. Add to that the authorities have tied up the parents' hands when it comes to discipline, where a parent can now be hauled away for a dirty glance, and you've created a recipe for disaster. The "do what thou wilt" is hailed and is now the new norm.

replacing parents with games and television = brain gets filled with nonsense with zero counter or balancing mechanism.

plenty of us here grew up murdering stuff on computers our entire lives. The difference for me was I had a life outside of my computer. I had intelligent & successful parents that made sure to properly socialize us.

kinda like dogs. Your dog's most likely gonna be a dick to other dogs if its spent 99% of its life with JUST humans. As it never learned how to play and socialize. Now take not knowing how to play and socialize and combine it with a brain full of murder murder murder... It's not good.

The games aren't the root cause, the parents aren't the root cause, but combine then and we start getting somewhere.

I remember noticing the effects of game brainwashing all the way back when Pokemon red came out. A few months later I was referring to real life creatures with pokemon names without realizing it. Like calling butterflies butterflees.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

I guess they will have to sue every single game developer and publisher for doing the same? lol

This is in Quebec. They could very easily win this.

Games are made to be addicting and money pits. Loot boxes are definitely gambling. Anywhere else but Quebec and this would be laughed out of court, but there it might have a chance.

hey if you buy loot boxes its your fault for paying something you dont need. at the end you are the culprit of your own actions no one forced to buy it, if you buy drugs it is your fault no one forced you to do it (extreme example but comes close, also no one forces you to bet you do it yourself)..now you can argue about DLCs and season pass since you are forced to buy it to experience the game as whole

Do away with the Internet and cell phones and the problem might eventually fix itself. That is, after two thirds of the population kill themselves enmasse after they learn the selfies they were planning to take at the edge of a cliff will be useless. The catch phrase "this is me falling into the ravine" could come into vogue.

Lemmings 2020...? Sure, you'll be able to play it offline.

...playin' the lead roll in a dwerg tossing contest.
