If the people are willing for their worth to be devalued and their Ok with it /shrug but knowing their avg citizen is ok with it so...

stop oogling the Electoral College map, and see how much of the nation is still left un-touched. It would suck, but we'd be fine with a severing from Cheap chinese production. imagine the horrors of no new iphones for a season or two. I'm sure the cities would burn themselves to the ground over something so silly.
Just some facts:

Believe it or not, the USA is actually slightly larger than China in terms of land mass.

The USA spends about 800 Billion a year on military which is just under 2% of our GDP.
China spends close to 200 million a year on military which is about 4-5% of their GDP.

China is among the highest GDP military GPD spenders. The US is actually not even outside of average with its GDP military spending, but the GDP is much higher than any other nation.

Russia is much larger than the US in terms of land mass, but it has about half the population (150m people) and a smaller economy than Italy (60m people).

Just facts. China is not now and is not likely to ever be a real threat to the world. The US created GPS in the 70's and opened it up to everyone when technology got to a point that the global economic benefits outweighed the security concerns. No other nation has even come close to doing something like that, and the US did that in the 70's. Now, because our economy is so ahead, we have private enterprise capitalizing space year before any other nation.

I like to be pragmatic, but it's clear that China policies will never get them to the top, at least not on this planet.

I also really REALLY think this thread should die.
