The fact that Henry Cavill pushed super hard to play Geralt due to being a huge fan of the Witcher books bodes really well I think. Despite the movies not being all that great, he nailed playing superman, so I have no doubt if his heart is into it, nailing Geralt will be no problem. The music from the trailer sounds exactly like something from the games as well so it would seem they are borrowing elements from the games as well which is nice, especially if it's stuff like the way the music sounds. Not to mention it sounds like Cavill is trying to do his best Doug Cockle impersonation. Great way of tying into the games without having to base anything off of them (which I would imagine would cause a legal mess).

As to the whole woke casting thing, I'm confident the majority of it is really just a money thing that is a fall back move by the studios. If the best actor/actress for the job wants 20 million for the role, but you can get a myriad of others to do it for 5 million, if the penny pushers think the top choice actor/actress being in the film won't be enough to offset that 15 million dollar difference, go for one of the 5 million dollar options that happens to be a "Person of Color" to try and get some more money from the woke people by ticking a box.

What leads me to believe this is that it's always a B list "Person of Color" who gets cast like that. At the end of the day, woke cast stuff was never meant to be top tier media to begin with and the population has been able to put it together that woke = not quality leading to "go woke, go broke". If it were a top tier actor/actress who was cast in non racially conforming role would anyone even care? Like if Denzel Washington was cast as Vesemir, it would probably just make me all the more excited to see it.

only issue there is that there's plenty of not B cast went broke cuz they tried to be woke stuff out there.

Like, the new ghost busters would require a totally different script, actors aside. Y'all are acting, so put the real you away for a moment, and act

I consume media for escapism, not "insert me right into CNN/FOX news cycle'ism" which is 99% of modern television and movies, so I just avoid it. I cut the cable long before all this insanity kicked off.

eventually these orgs that were profiting off of rage will realize it only really works in the clickosphere, n things should correct a bit. The new joker movie is a good example of that. N trying to cancel Dave Chapelle was basically the deathknell.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.

Oh for sure there are absolute dumpster fires out there. Aside from Disney though, has anyone put any real money into any of those flicks? Like, I would imagine the new Charlie's Angels film has a budget of a bingo card and half a pack of cigarettes.

I go to the theater once a year, with my folks, during the holidays. So, nope. I started detaching from media many years back, after high school. The inane political inserts drive me nuts. Right, or left. Thus I skip pretty much everything modern era. It's the same reason why my social media use tapered off heavily after high school as well (i'm 32) it's just such a massive and unhealthy waste of time to constantly fill your brain with bottom rung nonsense. I see the same thing every time I hop on social media. Old friends that never logged off, just spinning their tires, nonstop disinformation, and propaganda. no thx. Pro tip, the best place to start in making a better world is locally, in your home, then your yard, then your street, then your neighborhood, etc etc. flinging digital shart across the internet is akin to stalemate. useless.

what does junk food do to your body? OK, apply this same thought process to your brain's consumption.

the new angels could'a been epic. Make it kinda dark, have the ladies be disgraced, going rogue, starting their own new spy cell. bosley being a chick doesn't matter, at all. anyone screeching over that needs to take a step back for a moment. in fact, the story would'a been better with Bosley now being an evil mastermind out to get them.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.

Partly because I expected the games to be a continuation of the previous one. The story was, but the games were different, bigger, better.
The combat was odd in Witcher 1, but I feel like it was otherwise the best game in the series with Witcher 3 a close second. I never replayed Witcher 2. I didn't like it as well as either 1 or 3.

Witcher 1 combat was extremely simple, if a little clunky. But because you had virtually no control over Geralt's moves they could go hard on the pirouettes.
