yep. one launcher to rule them all:
Quote:
GOG's Galaxy 2.0 client has entered open beta, allowing all PC gamers to try out GOG's unified launcher, which can bring together games across multiple platforms to create a combined games list.

This means that PC gamers can access all of their games in one place, reducing the need for launcher switching. Users can even sync their GOG Galaxy configuration settings between devices, which is great for users with multiple PCs. Your friends lists from most major gaming clients are also available within GOG Galaxy, which will allow gamers to talk to their other friends with relative ease.

GOG GALAXY 2.0( <--- this one skup!)
edit: use the link above for the open beta, not "updating" in any existing installation of GOG Galaxy.

i would not have posted if i haven't tried it, have some screenies:

setting up was just a log in to the platform and the library and other meta is imported (gives a list of what during the config). yes you still need the other launchers, thank you drm. but there is the option to close when shutting down the game which works like a treat.

personally i like it because i don't have to guess where an old game is . . .

Too bad this didn't come out years ago when I played more than one game at a time and could've taken advantage of it.

individually adding .exes that fall off after updates isn't quite the same.

unless i'm missing a section in Steam that syncs with other platforms?

I didn't actually think about because it really doesn't matter to me but you are correct. I have added non steam games to steam for a quite a while.

I just have good old icons
Most Epic games can be run DRM free. The launcher can stay closed the entire time.
Steam games need Steam running, coz Steam DRM...

I don't really see the point of adding non Steam games into Steam, one by one, manually and hoping it will keep them there. If I don't need to run some store front, I don't.

That is essentially why I'm not as enthusiastic about this software as most people here. If you can get something extra out of it, I suppose it's worth it. At face value, though, it's more complexity and more "bloat" than it needs to be.

Back in the day when I was playing games with friends online it was helpful to have the game in Steam so that they could see that I was playing it on the friends list. Now that I am completely anti social online, especially in games, there is no need for it.
