Blizzard has enough resources to do a proper remake. The end product tells us that they dont care about the IP as long as the $ flows. They are following in Bethesda's footsteps. Ride the IP's reputation long enough till the wheels fall off. As long as the consumer continues to eat the manure, that is what they will feed us.

It gives them support for mediocrity. If the game is already a financial success before it's finished, they don't really have any incentive to make it great. Just buying the game after it comes out is the exact same level of support in a case like this where the developer has loads of resources.

But what if they see the pre-order numbers and are low and dont bother doing a great job.

Then maybe more people will stop supporting. This is the beauty of capitalism, except when zealots just buy because it's blizzard. You shouldn't vote for team a just because it's team a. I'm hitting on a few topics with this.

You are buying a game that doesn't exist yet, for basically no reason other than to "support the devs". It is a dumb business model that mitigates risk for publishers with no guarantees for the consumers. It used to be that if a game was bad nobody would buy it. These days a game can be a success on preorders alone. Yes the studio and the publisher are to blame here, but stop being easy victims. The games is just as good a week after launch day, when you actually know what it is you are buying.

Then they shouldn't have advertised that upgrading the engine was part of the product.

The funniest bit is the trailer for revamped cut scenes on their own website is still the 2018 demo that was cut for utter garbage.

Well that's simple, the game/company is not worth supporting.

I never played Warcraft 3 but i do still play WoW and I was looking forward to the all but confirmed diablo 2 remaster, but after the W3 remaster I'm not having very high hopes.

Blizzard just automated the refunds for the game.

It has to be a PR nightmare to have to resort to that.
