Kinda like the thought about not having to have a gaming laptop to play already bought steam games. Stadia kinda blew the pooch in that regard imo.

How are those things at all alike?

On one side you've got added input lag inherent to the technology, repeatable, testable, provable. On the other you've got superstitious placebos, funny feelings and hoodoo magic.

I liked Geforce Now :-), logged in to my game accounts, played WOT and lag was OK, in R6 it was little worse, but that because the latency to EU servers from Israel is already ~60ms, so if you live closer to servers- I think it's worth the $5/m.
Also in R6 I saw that I was playing on Tesla P40 with 24GB Vram lol

While we are on the subject, who has the best in home streaming set-up nowadays? Tried out the Steam link several years back but was unimpressed.

Best R0ach Quote of all time : TLDR: Haswell might be the last legit gaming platform unless mice get their own non-USB interface on some newer architecture.

I tried it with Kingdom Come. Nvidia seems to running really low end systems as the fps was just awful and the stuttering was laughable, even on low settings. My lowly system performs better.

Found out that some EU servers using the new Intel CC150 @ 3.50GHz CPU [+ RTX T10-8] instead of old XEON 2697 V4 + Tesla P40:

It's good... very good.

It doesn't match the performance of a dedicated system, but for a streaming service, Nvidia got this right!

If you can't afford to drop $1000-1500 on a brand new system, but you can afford $5 per month, this is perfect.

Hell, the perfect use case for this: Some component dies in your system and you need to RMA it. If you don't have a spare CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard, etc. lying around, this service will be a godsend.

EDIT:

Just played a round of Overwatch on the "Competitive" preset for Geforce NOW (720p, 120hz). It was most definitely visually degraded compared to my current setup (1440p, maxed, Gsync), but from a performance standpoint, it was spot on. Maybe 10-20ms latency on top of a local system, but it felt very responsive. I honestly, think the response on my non-gsync IPS monitor felt more sluggish, which means that Nvidia just worked some magic. Not only is Overwatch playable on Geforce NOW, it is downright enjoyable!

Stadia is dead. Long live GeforceNOW!

What's up with the time limits. Even if I pay, there is a time limit? I understand 1 hour for free accounts, but the paid account says "extended sessions".

WTH does that mean?
