correct. they'll all spin up their own streaming, just like they all spun up their own launchers.

re-consolidation must happen, eventually.

I'm not following whats going on here.

You own the game on Steam and are trying to stream it through GeForce Now? Ignoring why you would want to stream a game that you can install locally, why would owning a game on Steam mean that you can stream it from Nvidias servers?

Am I missing a key piece of information, or am I just stupid (both are very likely)?

nope, i'm caught in the same understanding loop.

I suppose actually sampling the software, and all it offers would answer my question, but meh.

Seems like they expect Geforce now to function as a Shield does. redirecting local content elsewhere. i don't think that's the intent.

Why are you blaming Valve when the problem is between the publishers and Nvidia? It is Nvidia who's not allowing you to play certain games per request of publishers.

So I was missing a key piece of information. I thought geforce now was like the google game streaming. I'll go back to not paying attention very well and keep my mouth shut.

i was hoping that was part of the feature set too, since Shield doesn't do it. Figured they could easily monetize a tunnel from home >> elsewhere.

i guess that means its still just chrome's built in browser solution, or steam's client >> client solution.

It same as Stadia. Only difference is that you can use Steam as the library and not Googles own store. Why not locally? You PC is not a gaming machine.

so you can shop from the geforce now store, OR the steam store. so all they did was bundle shield into a software package, n forget the local access portion it includes.

got it.
