I'm posting this because this has been an interesting story to watch develope. Breakpoint released as a direct sequel to wildlands but it changed the gameplay and turned it into a looter shooter. Most people hated it. Ubisoft basically did what many developers/publishers do these days and forced mechanics that can encourage micro transactions (cosmetic only IIRC) into a game in a way that ruined it, but Ubisoft is the one company that has a track record of successfully turning a bad situation into something good and this is looking like it will be no exception. I think we should call this phenomenon "The Ubisoft phenomenon".
I played a lot of Wildlands. Ubisoft inflated the game size by reusing outposts and voice conversations. Story missions play the exact same at various points of the game, even the exact same dialog. Lazy dev's trying to fix a broken game. I'd rather buy a good game to begin with.
The new customisation options are nice for tailoring the way the you want to play and turning off gear levels is a good start. I have to say, as a fan of Wildlands, once I tinkered with the settings enough I really enjoyed my Breakpoint playthrough.
