But it made the game look better. Ended up killing the 9600gt and replaced it with 9800gt. And that is what i want the remaster to be like.

Not sure how usefull the dedicated physx card was for the vanilla game. But with mods it seemed to help.
unlikely, since lead dev said it all boiled down to being inexperienced with optimization.

the benchmark now would be to release something absolutely gorgeous, that uses every last drop of available hardware properly.

like, I don't see what ID does with Doom as all that special. It's usually a room, or corridors. Not a whole lot of surface space to worry about.

oh, and by the way... is it just me, or does Assassins Creed Odyssey simply not wanna run well above 60-70FPS when in a city(and that's on not max settings)? Feelz like i'm playing an MMO. "oop, time for townlag"(3440x1440p, 9700k, 2080ti)

We definitely should get a remaster of Crysis so that everyone pretending to make shooters today can get an extra good look at how it's supposed to be done.

better hope they remaster the AI too then.

just making it shinier, ala-new HALOs isn't good enough.

If they do make it, they need to make it as machine crushingly beautiful as they can. Make "but can it run crysis" great again.

It was not a good game, but it looked so good that it was fun to play anyways. Also, busting tires and throwing explosive barrels is always fun.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play through a new Crysis that, to the same extent as the first one, brought current flagship cards to their knees. But I don't think there's any sort of mechanic or design choice in Crysis that makes it an examplar. It was never popular among fans of shooters, and it has little to no replayability in a competitive multiplayer setting.

The only reason we're still talking about it today is, most probably, the fact that every single installment of that franchise became a staple hardware benchmark of its time.

Crytek in financial trouble again? Wait, let me rephrase.

Crytek in even more financial trouble? Better.

Keep the original modes for a retro experience but add new levels with better AI for Real gamers, I'm not one of those
Improve how humans look and move would be the biggest difference in graphics.

I didn't realize people thought the AI was dumb in Crysis, I guess it's been a while since I've played it, I thought they were pretty decent.

That said, this mod makes the AI a lot harder while giving the player enhanced nanosuit abilities. Might wanna check it out.

I agree, it shouldn't just be crushing for the sake of it(there's is a good chance of it happening ). It should look the part as well.

IMO, Crysis was loved because of its simplicity. Using FarCry 1 (kinda) like it's foundation, with superhuman abilities & amazing visuals.
