[GameSpot] Microsoft Flight Simulator Launching This August, Pre-Load Live Now

Quote:
Microsoft Game Studios and Asobo Studio are hosting a closed beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator later this month but have revealed that the game will launch just a few weeks later, on August 18.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is available for pre-order today from the Windows 10 Store and can be pre-loaded too if you use the Xbox Game Pass for PC app on Windows 10. The game will also launch for all Game Pass subscribers on PC on the same day. You can check out more stunning 4K footage in the latest trailer below.

Quote:
Flight Simulator will feature three different versions to purchase, with their differences all coming down to included planes and airports. The standard $60 edition includes 20 planes and 30 airports, the $90 Deluxe edition increases that to 25 planes and 35 airports, and the Premium Deluxe edition features the full 30 plane and 40 airport roster, including exclusives like the Boeing 787 and San Francisco International Airport.

Pretty cool to know that this will be on game pass for PC and Xbox. I can't wait to crash into my own house.

They ruined their chance to say "taking off" in the title.

I'm really nervous.

Yes and no.

With the way it loads terrain, you either always have to be online or you can download certain areas of the world and fly in those places. The map in the game is Bing Maps, to download the entire world, you'd need at least 2 petabytes (2000 terabytes) of storage.

Thank goodness it finally has a launch date.

My PC will be dedicated to virtually touring the Earth for at least a solid month.

Yes. I am going to spend 60 bucks on this game just to do things like that, and probably do them unsuccessfully. I'll try to fly by my own house to see what it looks like, and probably crash into alot of things because im not good at flying. I see this to be the same as when I play Grand Theft Auto. I start out with the plan of beating missions, then I find myself destroying as much as possible to see how long I can avoid the police and when I am caught, I lose interest in the game and dont play for a week.
