At this point i would try to go fullHD and turn basic AA on, and compare FPS with DLSS. Also knowing how AA works (upscale, then downscale in some variants) tells me that using AI in the process is bit buzz-wordy.

then do the work to figure it out.

whatever the smoke & mirrors are, they work quite well, and its by far the best setting I can find for the game, even when considering forced AA from external sources. other AA's aren't trained, DLSS is. that's not buzz wording.

DLSS Quality + NVCP sharpening of 50% = as good as the game can look right now.

note - 1.01 update seems to have further increased DLSS performance for me. I'm regularly sitting between 100-120 @ 3440x1440p on max settings now.

Looking forward to mocking the people saying the PS5 and XSX would run PS4 games at 4K/120fps.

Horizon Zero Dawn with PS4 Pro settings runs at 64fps on a 2080 Ti. PS4 Pro is 1920x2160/30fps. 2080 Ti is 3840x2160/60fps. Exactly 4x the amount of pixels per second. You can scream console optimization(and admittedly, this port is kind of botched) all you want but a weaker PS5 won't freakin' double the frame rate of a 2080 Ti.

Death Stranding was a great port and it got nowhere near 120fps at 4K on a 2080 Ti using PS4 Pro settings. It hovers around 75.

This makes sense, after all if AMD had the capability of manufacturing a GPU that would challenge the perf of 2080Ti why wouldn't they release it as a discrete GPU? Unless maybe backroom deals with MS prohibited that?

I'll be honest I've got less idea about how close the PS4/5 are to bare metal than the PS2, but as you say consoles generally do better than expected given their hardware as they usually have less cruft running in the background and a well done console game is optimised to within an inch of its life because the target hardware is extremely narrow.

Also, [email protected] is 8x the pixels/second of [email protected], because 4K is 4x the pixels of 1080p.

I'm very curious about this game, but I think it's 50/50 whether I'll like it or not. For that reason, it'll wait until it's a lot, lot cheaper...

They had 290X and 7970 before PS4/Xbox One came out. Why did they put a cut down 7850 and 7750? I wonder why. AMD should have put 64-Core CPU in these consoles. What could be stopping them?

So AMD might have a 2080Ti killer GPU that they're not releasing and putting a cut-down version in the Xbox Series X? That would be great.

PS4 Pro is 1920x2160/30fps. Not 1920x1080.
