[BGR] Every Xbox Series X game Microsoft revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase

Quote:
Microsoft finally gave us more reasons to get excited about the Xbox Series X on Thursday during its Xbox Games Showcase. For the very first time, we got to see blockbuster games in action on the new hardware, and most of them looked fantastic, including Halo Infinite, which is apparently twice as big as Halo 4 and Halo 5 combined. We also got confirmation that a new Fable game is in the works from the team that makes the Forza Horizon games, and we got fresh looks at Everwild from Rare, Psychonauts 2 from Double Fine, and Destiny 2 from Bungie.
Trailers are at the source.

The more I hear about the Xbox the more it feels the console itself will be a flop. Halo Forza and Fable... It's like 2008 all over again. They have nothing to show beyond the things everyone expects.

Based on what they've said, not most but all "first party" Xbox games will also be coming to PC. I suppose there could be an Xbox exclusive if a third party dev decided to make one but that seems unlikely for anything beyond indie games.

So since I am updating my PC, there's really no reason to buy an Xbox Series X it seems.

If you have a good gaming PC, I can't think of a reason to get an Xbox Series X based on what is currently known.

Once I get the wife to approve a new GPU, it'll be a hard sell to get an XBX too

I see this as a doubled edge sword. It seems as though MS is changing Xbox from a hardware to a service division. All of the games announced will be available on GamePass, Xbox, and PC which also has Gamepass. Alot of these games are interesting enough that I'll probably get game pass ????. All the third party games will most likely look better on Xbox. Could be wrong, depends on if SSD speed difference has that much of an impact. But the exclusives will NO DOUBT look better. All I know is that I'm switching from Xbox to PS and also getting Gamepass because I play on PC.

Avowed is likely to give Elder Scrolls a run for their money.

Psychonauts 2 will be highly anticipated by anyone who played the first.

State of Decay 3 is the first game from Undead Labs that won't be produced on an Indie budget, there should be very little in common with the first two instalments.

Playground Games has been one of the best studios in the business for the last 9 years, at the very least we're going to get a highly polished experience from them.

And of course they specifically said they're not done announcing new games, but at this point we've probably seen everything that will release in the next year.

Yea that pretty much the jyst of it. It's good for us PC gamers that they're giving us more games but it just also seems like they're not giving anyone a reason to want an Xbox at the same time. If they at least let devs make next gen games without having to make them work on Xbox one as well then people might want to get a next gen Xbox because it would be so much cheaper than a PC that could run the same games but if an Xbox one can play them then almost any modern PC with a half decent GPU can.
