HTPC to stream games from gaming PC

Hello,

I'm in need of some changes in my current setup, which is gaming PC (also audio/movie/general usage) + racing sim in living room. I want to move bulky sim to another room without buying additional gaming PC as current one is also used with TV for everything else + other games.
What I want is to get some basic htpc with i5 and stream games from the gaming PC while retaining everything else that I must run from PC to TV. Can't just use miracast as I want to use my USB dac and my HiFi properly so that needs PC near TV

Network will be 5ghz WiFi over 5-10 meters. Very interested what has worked for you, not interested in google and random reviews. Looking for elegant solutions as I really don't want to resort to moving PC all the time.

this, love mine & will upgrade if/when they release hdmi2.1 version.

it'll do everything of a smart TV, + stream in your games + PLEX, etc etc. i really don't see a reason for building an HTPC, unless you already have all the parts just sitting around.

Sounds great, from what I read!
For some reason I completely ignored it... well some reason was that I still think about it as streaming from pc to to tablet. Did not know they got new stuff.
So you're using one? Any lags/issues/annoyances?

Nope... I stream 4k HDR 60gig rips to my shield over wifi plugged into my Denon and plays flawlessly. Haven't need to transcode anything since i got it. Auto swaps HDR/SDR, sound, etc.

It also gets updated regularly, just got android 9.
