Thx

You might find the below link to optimizing case airflow of interest. It is a basic guide to setting up a case to flow cool air to it's components / coolers and thus givng lower operating temps.

Basically, every degree warmer the air is going into cooler translates into same number of degrees hotter component will be. So by setting up case fans to flow cool air to component fans we end up with lower component temps and less noise.

As thread is started a year and 4 months ago I think it's current enough. Also, as availablity is very different in different market areas it's kinda hard to give options without knowing what is available in your market area.

If that's not current enough there is also 'Don't knock the Hyper 212 EVO' started 4 months ago
https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-...r-212-evo.html
It has so lower priced options to 212.

Here's a PC Part Picker list curated partly from this thread. The selection in my post doesn't update but if you click the "PCPartPicker part list" link it will take you to a page that automatically chooses the lowest priced cooler. Then on that page you can click "From parametric selection (show)" to view the list.
Also, you can choose from many different countries using the drop-down menu.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU Cooler: *Deepcool - GAMMAXX 400 74.34 CFM CPU Cooler ($24.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $24.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
*Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria

To be sincere, i wouldn't even buy a cheap high end cooler for that CPU. The power bill from that **** must be stupid high.

It can be enough, but idk if it's enough, but it can be. It depends what ambient temperature you have and what case+fans setup and noise tolerance you have.

Key words here are: it can be.

I wouldn't spend more than $30 on a cooler for that CPU. But the power draw from it shouldn't impact the power usage that much. You have to remember that we run DC power converted from AC and it likely doesn't increase the power draw from the socket more than 1-5w per hour. I'd lean more toward 2kwph increase, if that. 2kwph is nothing but pennies when you add it to the overall draw that the system is already converting off the socket.

~Ceadder

I am really starting to feel my Oats as a long time member of OCN. Why did we go back to this system again?

Hate to be that guy, but why bother?

Unless you're trying to keep it going as a novelty system, I'd look for a used ryzen 1600/1700 + mobo/ram. They're so cheap used now, you can probably sell your 9590 + mobo/ram and recoup most of what you spend.
