While 212 is not a 'bad' cooler it has been seriously over-hyped / over-rated / often over-priced for as long as it's been around. Almost every company has coolers similar, some at similar or lower prices and often with similar or lower temps .. so more often than not we can spend less money on and get a better cooler than 212 is.

Indeed!

I gave the fan to my bro and ran Yate Loons on it. Now it's running something else in a client build.

~Ceadder
I also want to mention I never shut off my PC, so the fan has definitely seen much more than 50k hours. However, I can't say the same for the fan that came with a Hyper 212 EVO I had for a different build. It clogged up and had difficulty spinning much faster than my 212+.

I think you are being sarcastic? In case you are not, whats a better cheaper alternative to the 212?

https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-...ernatives.html

Here is just one better and cheaper option
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-005-_-Product

Edit: And here is another
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...3802-_-Product

Some of the other coolers on the list are less than $40 and all of those are newer better and cheaper than the ancient overrated overhyped mediocre 212
Please stop hyping the 212 its as old as the Intel Core I7 920 or the Geforce GTX 280 if not older and no one is hyping those

No because it's way too overestimated.

On top of the before mentioned Arctic Freezer 33 Coolers (and the new Freezer 34 @ 22 eur) which have always been better and are currently better than the Hyper 212 in both pure price, pure performance and price/performance, i want to add the :

LC-Power Cosmo Cool LC-CC-120 which has taken the crown from the Hyper 212 since 2014 and at least in Europe is priced around 14 eur and is the best price/performance Cooler in the world since 2014.

And it's bigger brother LC-Power Cosmo Cool LC-CC-120-RGB for 22 eur, which is the best price/performance matte black rgb Cooler since it launched.

As for the US market, while there's a Deepcool Lucifer v2 for $35 nothing else matters, simply nothing in the US can beat this price point while the stock on amazon lasts.

The sales of Raijintek Themis at SuperBiiz for $19 https://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php...a303b90a18050d

and the unfortunately finished Themis Evo sale also at SuperBiiz for $26 are also a worthy mention https://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php...e0002e0a180510

You have two other members giving you examples of better coolers at lower cost. I'll only again say that there are many other coolers as good or better for similar or less money.

Until today I was running my Corsair AIO H115i, an older one of a few years. Last night I was watching my temps and noticed it was higher than normal again (Idle package temp of 36c @ 4GHz). Checked the pump, it was running, checked the fans, they were spinning. I ran AIDA64 to stress test and the package temp spiked and the system shut off. This was at the stock CPU speed of 4GHz (AMD 8350) and the temp hit 80+c! She's fine though, no damage. Today I removed the AIO and as anyone who liquid cools should do, I have a trusty EVO212 laying around just in case... well 3 of them. So I mounted it with new paste (the included cooler master TIM). I ran out of my MX-2. So, I also have a bunch of room at the top of the case now that the 280 rad is gone so I mounted one of my stock Corsair case fans to the top pulling air in and forcing fresh air to the fan on the EVO212 which is shot to the back of the case and exhausted with my Cougar 140mm fan. I have 2 more Cougar 140's on the front of the case pulling air in as well. So, 3 - 140's in, 1 - 140mm out and I am "positively" pleased with that lol.

If you take a look at the temps in the first pic, that is at stock CPU speeds then I overclocked to 4.5GHz boosting to 4.6GHz. I still have headroom She still clocks down (Cool & Quiet) and as you see, I ran both stress test for 20min each. I think I can call this a success. The second pic is the overclock settings. ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0, 16GB 1866 mem dual channel, AMD FX8350 Black Edition, ASUS ROG Strix RX480 OC 8GB, Corsair Obsidian 750D. A simple system in a big case. The last pic shows the Corsair fan and the 212 EVO orientation.
what fans are you running on yr 212 and the spd at which it runs at?

wat case r u using and are those dust filters i see at e top?

I think you are being sarcastic ignoring the half dozen mentioned in this thread prior to your post? In case you are not, you should probably read what had been laid out in the thread....and other threads.....on this subject.

Yeah....the little girl hentai avatar is really creeping me out....
