Noctua NH-D15 on Gigabyte Z390 DESIGNARE

I'm a little confused. In the official Noctua website it is written that the NH-D15 covers the first PCIe slot of the motherboard. While some users report that the heatsink leaves the first PCIe slot free. How are things really?

Thank you!

sorry the image is small and the link doesn't go right to that table but unfortunately they aren't the best match.

i guess. i had a d14 on my z77 and it didn't block the first slot (x1) but anything i would have put in it would have been touching.

i think thermalrite and bequite! has a few good coolers. been on water for awhile and haven't paid close attention to the latest.

There is an S version of the NH-D15 that is offset to one side so there is more clearance for the top PCI-E slot

The cooler won't work. The first PCIE x16 slot is to the right, in the position where the X4 PCIE slot would be on the other boards (Master, Ultra, etc). On those more mainstream/gamer boards, the X16 slot is more to the left, leaving room for the cooler.

Just note it only comes with a single fan but the second fan only makes a 2c difference anyway

Ok, thank you. Possible to transfer a second fan from NH-D15?
