But is also a big notch below the coolers already discussed in the thread, and at roughly the same price point. It also doesn't fit in the OP's case. Seems like you put a lot of thought into the recommendation.

Since you don't like the Tweaktown results (neither do I, I have always found their testing suspect at best), let's use the eTeknix results. Keep in mind that the Mugen used in these tests is the low noise version:

Hmmm....didn't seem to keep up with the Scythes there, either. Maybe if we go to another somewhat unknown site (since no major sites seem to review Arctic products these days) that tested the older version Mugen 5 the results will favor the Arctic more:

Nope, didn't work out there, either. So....your recommendation is to buy a cooler that doesn't perform on par with those being discussed, that also doesn't fit in the case. Good job, Sparky, good job. Peddle on!

what has reviews of a fan that shows it to be very good considering the price got to do with a review site that appears a bit dodgy?

also given than his case can take a cooler of 165mm height and the esports 34 duo is only 157mm high how does it not fit?

so remind me why I have to put more thought into to it and peddle on?

These are rhetorical questions. Please don't respond.

Aquatuning has the ARO-M14G in stock in grey - https://www.aquatuning.us/air-coolin...grey-amd-ryzen . All of the Thermalrights I have used have been great, but i have never used this one, and info on it is a little hard to find. I think @doyll may have wound up doing some tests on it. Maybe he can shed some light.

The Enermax looks interesting, but the three tests I found of it showed drastically different results.

You're right. I made a mistake on the height, which I misread on one site as being 170mm tall. So, I want to give you all of the props you deserve for making a recommendation of a cooler that is clearly outperformed by every other cooler mentioned in the thread, based solely on your thinking that "cheap and quiet while cooling better than the supplied one" is important as getting a better cooler for the same cost, and the fact that you have never tested it yourself but have fans that you like from the same manufacturer, but does fit in the case.

The H7 Plus is an H7 that comes with a second fan, yes? So a ~$25 cooler that is only a few degrees better than a 212 in every other review is their 5th best?

Yeah...it seems any time I find a review on anything Arctic these days, it still of crazy discrepancies. I think the TT CLC with RGB fans being put on par with the Eisbaer as more comical than the H7 result, though.

For now, I honestly am only planning to stay at stock or going for a mild overclock.

I definitely like the black/dark coolers and I can go either way with RGB. I have the NZXT H500i utilizing the stock fan set up; 1 top and 1 rear exhaust.

I don't really want to spend more than $60 since I don't plan on going crazy.

After doing some research and reading various reviews, I found the following but am open to other suggestions:
- CM Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition ~ $40
- CM ML120L RGB ~ $40

What do you think/recommend for me? I appreciate any help and input!
Some very good post, but some absolutely horrible ones as well.

Your NZXT 500i has 165mm CPU clearance. Thermalright ARO-M14G would work very well, so woulld Scythe Mugen 5. I would go Thermalright.

But before you go spending money on new cooler, how do you have your case airflow setup? If case is not flowing cool air to cooler then things will run hot.

User results for the ARO-M14G - https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-...l#post28093464

Improvement over a LGMRT on a 3800X. That's pretty impressive. These new Ryzens are definitely different in terms of cooling.

if you want something cheap, I just saw this on YouTube.

$17 cooler that's basically on par with a 212 on a 3600 (it lost by 3c but it's got a weaker fan that's 8dBa quieter).

Swap the fan for something decent and it'd likely perform better than the 212 for $10-$15 less.
