Upgrading stock cooler for less than $60

I just built a new rig with the 3700x and am looking to upgrade my CPU cooler. While I enjoy the looks of the stock cooler, I am not thrilled with the noise and performance.

For now, I honestly am only planning to stay at stock or going for a mild overclock.

I definitely like the black/dark coolers and I can go either way with RGB. I have the NZXT H500i utilizing the stock fan set up; 1 top and 1 rear exhaust.

I don't really want to spend more than $60 since I don't plan on going crazy.

After doing some research and reading various reviews, I found the following but am open to other suggestions:
- CM Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition ~ $40
- CM ML120L RGB ~ $40

What do you think/recommend for me? I appreciate any help and input!

don't buy a 212, it's not 2007 anymore.

https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-...ernatives.html

also don't buy a 120 AIO, either get a 240 at minimum or don't buy an AIO.

Look into the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2 or Thermalright Macho Rev B.

Dark Rock Slim would be better than the 212 and it's around $50.

TS140P won't fit in his case.

Look into the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2 or Thermalright Macho Rev B.
Macho rev.b is convex, you mean aro m14, and if im not wrong it doesn't fit in that case.

Mugen 5 rev. B. Still slightly convex, but doesn't seem to be a problem, like the macho rev.b.

Mugen 5 Rev B gets my vote at ~$46.
https://www.amazon.com/Mugen-Rev-CPU.../dp/B06ZYB8K77

If you need RGB just get Phanteks' Halos RGB frames or get the TUF edition if buying a X570 TUF board https://www.newegg.com/p/13C-0004-00084.

Thanks for that list of alternatives, taking a look through it now.

I also cant seem to find the Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2, it seems to be a old model?
